Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your marketing agency? How did you get started in the industry, and what services do you offer to your clients?
Rachael Seda is CEO and Co-Founder of Mix+Shine Marketing, a full-service digital marketing and social media agency, founded in 2014, known for big agency talent at small-firm accessibility. Our goal at Mix+Shine is to be an extension of your team as if you hired a marketing team in-house. Your goals are our goals. Our services include: Social Media Marketing, SEO/AD Words, Social Ads, Content Creation, Social Media Strategy, Influencer Marketing, Video Marketing & Campaigns, Email Marketing, Brand Photoshoots and Campaigns. We work with franchise and retail brands with multiple locations, food and beverage brands, healthcare and wellness industries, and more.
Rachael also hosts The Corporate Dropout podcast, where she interviews other founders on their business growth and lessons learned to help other entrepreneurs. She loves to interview those who have made the jump from the corporate world to learn about how you did it, why you did it, some key triumphs and challenges and using your story to help motivate and inspire others.

How do you foster creativity and innovation within your agency?
The Mix+Shine team believes in a hybrid work schedule, a creative and collaborative work environment and has their office located within The Vibe District at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, where they can be inspired by other artists and encourage our team to get outside and experience their surroundings. Great ideas come from the most unexpected places. Mix+Shine takes the time to focus on team building, employee recognition, and celebrating success together.
What do you store in your storage unit with Ocean Storage? How has it helped your business operations and client service?
We use the storage unit at Ocean Storage for a lot of items that we need to make our business run and to serve our clients. We use the facility to store equipment, photography backdrops, and many props for client photoshoots. We have accumulated quite a bit from our past client brand video and photo shoots. We know they are safe and accessible there.
What specific features or amenities of the self storage facility attracted you to choose it for your storage needs?
Because we need to access the storage unit quite a bit, we needed it to be accessible, safe, secure and clean. We appreciate the secure keypad entry and the wagons at the front, as sometimes we have quite a bit of materials. We definitely need the facility to be climate-controlled due to what we are storing. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. The units, hallways and elevators are clean and the facility makes us feel safe, which is most important.
Are there any upcoming projects or exciting developments in your marketing agency that you’d like to share with our readers?
Mix+Shine is continuing to grow and expand our offerings. You can find our newest package offerings on our webpage. We are also expanding into the Nashville area and are excited about future opportunities to acquire like-minded agencies that take what we offer to the next level.
What advice or insights would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
“What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”
The right mindset and taking action is everything. Surround yourself with other people who are smarter than you. Ask for help. Help others in return. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to work hard. Being an entrepreneur is rarely glamorous (other than on the ‘gram of course). But I wouldn’t change a thing.
