Can you share information about your business and how you got started?
I have always loved thrifting and finding great deals. Researching how to get started and reading was definitely a process, but well worth it! I began by following several well known thrifters. I wanted to learn as much as I could so that I could start my own reselling business. First, I went through my closets at home and pulled out clothes, shoes, and other household items that I no longer used/desired. Next, I created an account with Poshmark. Then, I began listing and posting my items to sell. After a few months, I expanded to Mercari. I also created an Instagram account so that I could connect with other resellers, thrifters, and potential customers online. This is pretty much how Shethriftsforu, LLC came to be. I wanted to create another stream of income for my family.
How has renting self-storage with Ocean Storage helped you grow your business?
Renting a self-storage with Ocean Storage has helped my business tremendously. It gave me the space I needed to organize and store all of my inventory. Initially, I had totes, boxes, and closets full of items that I was reselling. Needless to say, my inventory was taking over my house. My storage unit provides me with a safe, secure, and neat location to properly store my inventory. For business owners who have the proper documentation, you can also have 24 hour access to your storage unit. This has been extremely helpful because I work full time, have an 11 year old son, and I serve in ministry. I am able to store all of my inventory and access it any time that works best for my busy schedule.
